USWDS Training Sneak Peek with James Mejia and Charlie Mahoney

Ahead of this year's Drupal Global Training Day on February 7th, Bixalers James Mejia and Charlie Mahoney joined our partners at Drupal4Gov to preview their training session on the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) in a special webinar.

In the video, James (lead software engineer) and Charlie (associate software engineer), who both serve on the USWDS core team, walk us through a step-by-step tutorial on implementing USWDS to help speed up your design and development. The eight-step plan shows you how to:

  1. Set up the tutorial site.
  2. Set up the USWDS and the USWDS compiler.
  3. Set up USWDS theme files and assets.
  4. Add USWDS CSS and JavaScript to the site template.
  5. Add the USWDS banner.
  6. Add the USWDS Identifier.
  7. Integrate project CSS and USWDS Sass.
  8. Customize USWDS settings.

Nearly sixty attendees, including various government colleagues who support technology and communications, joined the virtual session on January 25th. Didn’t get a chance to attend or wish to watch the training again? Check out the full recording below!
