At Bixal we are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive experience for all individuals, including people with disabilities. We believe that accessibility is not just a compliance issue, but a fundamental aspect of providing equal opportunities and removing barriers to participation for everyone.

We strive to create an environment where all people feel valued, respected, and empowered. We are continuously working to improve our accessibility practices to ensure that we are meeting a diverse range of needs.

Our goals

The Bixal website is a work in progress. As part of this progression, we are adhering to the following best practices. We strive to meet the latest W3C Recommendation of the WCAG guidelines (currently WCAG 2.2 AA).

Technology

The pages on this website are created using Drupal. The pages are being served and rendered in Drupal 10. We used axe-core to evaluate that every page follows essential accessibility best practices.

Our standards

We design web pages to meet or exceed Section 508 standards and conform to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. We meet Level AA standards, which means the content is accessible to most people in most circumstances.

Future goals

We know we can do more to make our website more accessible, so our site is a work in progress. Our goal is to achieve or exceed WCAG 2.2 AA. Future goals include but are not limited to:

· Including an HTML site map.

· Revising call to action buttons with unique wording.

· Improving keyboard-only interaction.

· Revising keyboard interaction with main page cards to reduce view changes.

· Revising page titles to include unique descriptions of page intention.

Our current site does not support:

· Personalization of line-height or fonts.

· Common high-contrast settings for low-vision users.

· Low-contrast mode for dyslexic users.

· Viewing the site in light or dark mode.

· Changing colors, contrast levels, and fonts.

Our team is committed to continuously reviewing and updating the site to accommodate more inclusive and accessible content. To that end, we have created a plan for future accommodation.

Our plans include:

· More in-depth testing with a wider variety of assistive technologies, including speech recognition software.

· Conducting a comprehensive audit on mobile devices.

· Incorporating accessibility reviews prior to each new publication of site updates.

· Including people with lived experience with disabilities in our evaluation process.

Compatibility

Bixal.com is compatible with most major Internet browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari and can be viewed on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
